In response to misinformation circulating about our private training site in the Boise Foothills, we want to offer verified facts—grounded in safety, professionalism, and community benefit.

Extensive Fire Prevention

We operate with a prevention-first mindset, not reactive safety. Our protocols exceed typical expectations:

Two water trucks onsite at all times
Firebreaks encircling the entire property
Fire-resistant artificial turf in training zones
No tracer or incendiary rounds—strictly prohibited
AR500 steel targets only (minimizing sparks)
Fire extinguishers, shovels & trained personnel present
Dedicated fire watch on every training day
Private fire response company on contract

Structured, Safe, Vetted Trainig

Valiance is a private training company, not a public range. Our sessions are highly controlled and instructor-led:

Led by a Special Operations veteran of the U.S. Army 75th Ranger Regiment
10 certified instructors + 10 certified Range Safety Officers
All staff trained in emergency trauma care
Zero injuries or accidents to date
Strict safety briefings before every session
Limited group sizes for better supervision
Participants are vetted, not open to the public

Low-Impact Noise

Sound tests confirm that Valiance training does not disrupt surrounding areas:

Pre-operational testing verified compliance
Nearby recordings show birds louder than gunfire
Instructors conduct periodic noise monitoring
Training hours strictly adhered to

Environmental Stewardship

We treat the land with respect and responsibility:

Frequent wildlife activity including deer and elk
All trash and casings are collected after every session

No Impact on Traffic

We are not expanding or increasing activity. Here's the reality:

We are not a commercial shooting range
No public access—sessions are invite-only
Training has been ongoing with no change in traffic
Sessions are intentionally capped to remain small

Context: Recent Incidents Elsewhere

The 1996 Boise Foothills fire was started by law enforcement using tracer rounds (not allowed on our property) during summer conditions--not by private landowners
The recent Star/Eagle wildfire began in an open, unsupervised area with no fire protocols or personnel
A recent incident in Elmore County involved a stray bullet hitting a car on I-84, nearly killing a child--again, in an uncontrolled shooting area

These events underscore the risks of unregulated firearm training areas. Valiance represents the opposite: limited access, vetted participants, and professional oversight.
